10th Jan 2019
Just a few words to match my mood this morning:
There is so much dark
Dark in the sky,
Dark in my mind
Dark in my soul
Dark in through the windows, through all windows
Dark back through years
Dark behind all the tears
Dark whilst standing in the sun
Dark whilst having so much fun
Where is the light to see by
Where is the light to show the way
Where is the light to reveal the joy
Hidden deep and locked away
He is the light, he helps us see
He is the light, he shows the way
He is the light , he reveals the joy
He can no longer be hidden away
Move dear soul so you can see
Move dear heart to find the way
Move dear child, reveal the joy
Move, hide no more, come into the day
Welcome to my blog. Grams is the name my first grandson gave me and it's stuck. My great loves: My husband, our nine children, twenty five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, my Faith, writing- prose and poetry - and travelling , especially in our camper. My posts are eclectic and I appreciate getting comments. So, please feel free to comment or offer advice on what you would like to to see more of.

Octpowrimo, 13th and 14th
19th Oct 2017
The prompt for the 13th Oct :
Art In The Wayward Mind
This wayward mind wanders
off course
an interminable inventor of wild
imaginings
remodeling, reshaping a woeful
reality
tortured until it turns again to
truth
and finds the narrow
path
and
follows
And for the 14th Oct:

And for the 14th Oct:
Movement And Words
He gently rubs the damp cloth over
his trainers
revealing a white area on the
old canvas
one by one he slowly unravels the two
blue laces.
Dreamily he watches a fly walk nearby on
grey tiles
And thinks, you have no idea how lucky
you are
Out on the downs he runs, runs, slowly
at first
Then, words fight inside his head, explode
back , forth
He speeds up , they get louder, his breath
gives out
He stops,
Falls to the floor,
Sobs softly

Past Bones
3rd April
Day 3 - poem a day:
Past Bones
Day 3 - poem a day:
Past Bones
Keep hold of that thread,
Let it hang form those past bones
Giving meaning to who we become
Every movement has its reason,
Every movement has its reason,
The flower, growing its timely season,
Where what has been
Has come to this,
And this is the softness
of the present
The delight of now
of the present
The delight of now
Hold on to that thread,
Though not too tightly
For each moment inform's the next,
Each thread must be broken,
Left behind
To free the mind

Thread / Winter 2020
10th Feb 2020
A couple of pieces from 2016 . I've altered them slightly.
Spent some lovely time yesterday playing with the grandchildren. We played fast moving, competitive card game which I found I was way too slow at. Oh well ... Thoroughly enjoyed it though. It made me think how good it is too play.

Hold on to that thread,
Let it hang from those past bones
A day of purpose
Where every movement has its reason,
The growing flower its timely season,
Where what has been
Has come to this,
And this is the softness of the
Song of delight.
Hold on to that thread,
Though not too tightly
For each second signifies the next,
Each gossamer strand shall be broken,
Left behind
To free the mind
Winter
That crisp morning:
The grass wearing a light cover
as of icing sugar,
as of icing sugar,
Icy pond still - reflecting
The chill,
Of my nose.
And you with your story,
Made my bones shiver.
How to unthink,
Unlink,
From memory.
How to box in,
Within.
How to warm through ,
the blue.

Acrostic
An acrostic poem using my name:
Many are the talents
And great is the wisdom
Roaming in bones and mind
Inspired by need , by thirst, by awe,
Aptly used to bury injustice
Not waiting for decay.
