You Mix It Up

Life is  delightful, happy, 

the days full of love and future dreams,

but thats when you decide to,

Mix it up.

Without any warning you interfere,

unsettle the heart, displace the joy

stir up the quiet sea within, causing waves

 that batter and hurt.

Tumble about, slip further under,

 unable to breathe, where is the surface?

Or where is the land to rescue ?

Where to  rest?

Today a little respite, a stillness, 

a long intake of breath, 

and, for now,

some peace.
